To close a memorable trip in Spain, we will show you one of our best finds today in Portuguese lands. This impressive palace belonged to upper-class society. Extensive vineyards and livestock lands made up the production of life that previously existed in this generous building. The past family generations exported wine to the entire region and manufactured a lot of money at that time. In such old buildings, several generations have passed. Contrasting with various military uniforms in one of the rooms and various pictures of family portraits, we verify that the house lived with people related to the military nobility of the time, in addition to a famous doctor. Once a vivid place in the 18th and 19th century is now left abandoned for 50 years and is in decline for even longer. As years have passed, its interior has been stagnant in time, being able to appreciate all the elegance that is still perplexed in time.
Today we will show you its delicate rooms with high ceilings, decorated moldings, incredibly carved wooden furniture, and even a private chapel. However, as soon as we want to go inside, we come to an unexpected discovery. The property is guarded. We get chased, not by people, but by a herd of wild boars.

Life is a strange correlation of events, the one time you are born and before you know it you grew old and it has all passed right before your eyes. During this period we make create a lot of memories that we share with our loved ones, most of these memories are made in a place we call home. This was no different for the Belgian family Steenackers, a family of four who loved, lived, and laughed in their wonderful historical home. But life is not endless and in the year 2004 mister Jan Steenackers passed away as the last inhabitant of the household, this turned the once-loved family home into a desolate time-capsule. The children that once lived here seem to have no interest in collecting the memories that were made here, they left everything behind from the moment Jan passed away.

Today we will relive their story and give you an exclusive look into their former place of happiness

Alrededor del cuarto o el quinto mes de embarazo es el momento de empezar a preparar el dormitorio de tu bebé. Saber el sexo de tu hijo, te ayudará mucho en la elección del tema para la decoración de su habitación, aunque hoy en día los criterios permiten mezclas. Por ejemplo, el tema de Winnie the pooh se usa tanto para niños como para niñas. Lo mismo ocurre con el tema de ositos, de animales, de jardines, cielo, y otros.

En cambio, cuando el tema es más puntual como en el caso de Blanca Nieves, Toy Story o Barbie, es posible encontrar el set completo del tema en las sábanas, la manta, el edredón, muebles, cuadros, cortinas, cenefas... todo ya hecho para convertir la habitación del bebé en un auténtico decorado.

Los colores en la habitación del bebé
Los colores de la habitación abandonan cada vez más el tradicional azul para niños y el rosa para las niñas. Hoy en día muchas familias optan por el beige, el amarillo claro, e incluso por el lila. Hay pinturas para todos los gustos, en tonos fuertes o suaves. Para los más pequeños de la casa, se recomiendan los colores más suaves, que revelan tranquilidad.

Iluminación del dormitorio del bebé
En cuanto a la iluminación de la habitación, se aconseja dos tipos de lámparas: una en el centro del techo, y otra en formato de media luna en una de las paredes del cuarto. Esta última, la podéis utilizar en el caso de que el bebé necesite cuidados durante la noche, sin tener que ser incomodado con la luz más fuerte. Una luz tenue puede ayudar también al bebé a que concilie mejor el sueño.

Las cortinas son necesarias para controlar la entrada de luz natural durante el sueño diurno del bebé. Se recomienda que usemos las que están hechas de materiales que no atrapen mucho polvo. El mismo consejo se puede aplicar al protector de la cuna y a la colcha. Que sean de un tejido que no absorba tierra y ningún tipo de polvo. Cuanto más sencillo sea el mobiliario de la habitación, mejor. Al principio, el bebé necesitará de una cuna, un armario y un cambiador. Luego, sería conveniente que tuviera un baúl para los juguetes, una silla y una mesita de actividades para cuando empiece a hacer sus primeros garabatos, y un parque o una cuna-parque para cuando esté sentadito jugando. La posición y distribución de los muebles son muy importantes porque van a determinar la practicidad a la hora de usarlos.

Tipos de colchones para el descanso del bebé

En cuanto a los colchones, existen cuatro tipos distintos por sus materiales y precios. El de espuma es el más barato, es antialérgico, pero menos higiénico. El de muelles es el segundo más barato, y su ventaja es que dispone de dos caras distintas: una para los meses más calientes y otra para los meses más fríos. El tercer tipo es el de fibra de coco. Tiene mejor higiene porque impide la acumulación de humedad, pero es más caro que los dos primeros. El cuarto es de látex, el más higiénico, y el que mejor se adapta al cuerpo del bebé.

Consejos de seguridad para la habitación del bebé

El ambiente en el que tu bebé va crecer debe ser cálido, agradable, estimulante, cómodo,... Un espacio en el que el bebé se sienta protegido y arropado. Por lo tanto, es necesario que sea extremamente seguro. Usa pinturas no tóxicas, muebles con bordes redondeados, protectores de enchufes, de cajones, de puertas y ventanas, además de cubre radiadores. Guarda bien los medicamentos, las pomadas, y otros materiales que el bebé pueda llevarse a la boca. Evita los objetos de cristal, de cerámica, u otros que puedan romperse y dañar al bebé. Todo cuidado es poco a la hora de protegerle.

Es muy importante que la habitación del bebé no esté sobrecargada de cosas, de peluches, y otros objetos decorativos. En los primeros meses, evita las alfombras. Atrapan muchos ácaros y tierra, lo que puede provocar alergias al bebé. Una habitación cargada de objetos es más difícil de limpiar, y la limpieza es un factor importante para la salud del bebé. Además, la habitación debe tener una buena ventilación.

Around 2 centuries ago, the Italian Caleiro family started living and doing business in this area of the country. In the beginning, they were a simple farming family, eking out their existence on the land. This, however, changed over the years. As they ventured into other sectors of the farming business, their influence in the area grew, as did their wealth. In the year 1880, they decided to demolish their old small family home and build the grand estate we see today on the grounds with their own private church attached to it. They lived here in peace for over a century. The family was well-known around the area and, even though they remained farmers, they rubbed shoulders with the upperclassmen of the local society. But everything changed in 2015. By then, there were already only a few members of the family left behind, but for no apparent reason, the Caleiro mansion was completely abandoned. Nobody knows what happened to the family or why they left their grand estate behind. Today we are going to explore this mystery, relive the story of the Italian Caleiro family, and venture inside their forgotten mansion.

A splendid residence that found its roots in1200, rises above an idyllic Italian village.
This grandiose castle with its medieval tower has seen better days, yet, the property has now lost its dignity due to a scandal in the past.
The only inhabitants at the moment are colonies of birds, which are starting to migrate to their next nesting site.

This palace was initially the home of a noble Italian family that lived here for several centuries, enriching it with numerous works of art and making it a splendid art gallery.
The former castle was transformed into a Renaissance villa by Mr. Camillo, a successor of the count's family, in the second half of the 1500s, preserving its austere and medieval character, accentuated by the tower and the typical castellan shoe-shaped plinth.

The last one who owned the palace was Count Luigi. On his death in the early 1800s, the villa was inherited by other counts, who sold it again at the start of the 1900s to Mr. Angelo.
He kept it in excellent condition until his death in 1950), and from that moment the house fell into a progressive state of decay.

There followed a period of so-called "ballottaggio" between different owners, and in the end. the villa came into the hands of a well-known painter, who named the building in honor of his wife. Thanks to the inspiration of the new owner, the house has undergone a notable recovery and had once again become an art gallery.

They lived a prosperous and prestigious life inside the castle until a tragedy happened in 2014 that changed everything in the blink of an eye.
In November 2014, gardening work and interventions were taking place in the park of the property.
Two of the works of the family, architect Grazioli and former bricklayer Giambattista, were given instructions for interventions to fell the tall trees because of a risk of falling, without having received any authorizations by the owners to do so. Suddenly the plant to be felled had given way and had hit on both heads of the workers. The two suffered from fatal injuries to the skull, and were crushed on the 20th of November, 2014, under the tree they were trying to uproot.

Turning the building's beautiful history into an ever-lasting grim and sinister tale.

Due to "imprudence, incompetence and negligence", the painter and his wife were both charged for manslaughter. It was from then, that the historic building ultimately lost its fate and has since slowly sunk into the elements.

Ignorant of this story before my exploration, I am going to take a look here today and take you inside a castle where the masterpieces of this Italian painter can still be admired.

The place you’re about to see today holds countless stories. It was once the house of real people-persons, named Monique and Francois. Awarded with the title of “nicest neighbors” they had beautiful years in their trusted place that they could call home. This was once a place filled with joy, and if one listens closely, the sounds of the board games they played with their children can still be heard as echoes of the past. Both Monique and Francois had an affection for reading, and every now and then Francois would venture out into the nearby wooded areas to hunt.

Happily in love that the couple was, they had 2 children together: a boy and a girl. On some wonderful timeless memories, we can still see them in the house embracing their first newborn child.

The boys' room is completely in the theme of his love for motorsport, whereas in the hallway, dozens of photos of their daughter color the wall, alongside her growth chart beautifully immortalized with lines.

Although covered in thick dust, the house looks as if they have just left the room. Here, Monique’s old sewing machine sits ready for use in what would be a bright spot by the window.

On X-rays found in the house, we can determine that Monique once suffered from back problems. But declining health due to age wasn't the reason the house was ever abandoned - in fact, the couple was still in their prime when they had to abandon their home forever, without having a choice.

If we have to believe the rumors about the house, the history of this place is painfully devastating. Weeks after our exploration, we learned that the couple deceased in a car accident in the Christmas of 2010, along with their son and daughter.

Today, the Christmas decorations are still bitterly hanging.
As their house was once meticulously maintained, the years of vacancy and neglect have now taken their toll on their precious home.

Let me open a window for you into the past and the life of these two worthy French residents and their children, that had no choice but to leave their beguiling French home left behind, forever.
