It's a story based on real life events, written and starring Anna Westall, produced by Louisa Edwards and directed by Lisa Downs. The film was written by Anna Westall based on her own personal experience with being a young chef suffering from bulimia. The film also stars her real life parents as her on-screen parents, and the house is their real house - so it was a very cathartic and emotional experience to film.

Mister Martin lived in this grand Luxembourgish farm together with his six children and his wife Mariel. They were known as the happy farming family because they were always seen together and participated in and organized lots of activities around the charming historic village. Unfortunately, his wife passed away early on in their relationship, this left him to care alone for his 6 children at first he managed. But over time the burden got too high for him and he grabbed towards alcohol to cope with his problems, this lead to a spiral of abuse and addiction where he never recovered from… His children left him one by one until he eventually had nobody left to take care of him. In the fall of 2011, Mister Martin was rushed to the hospital for an alcohol overdose from which he never recovered. The children don’t seem to care about the house he had left behind, the resale value is slim to none in this remote part of Luxembourg, so ever since his passing it has been slowly withering away until Mother Nature claims it for herself once again.

This story will tell the tale of a very humble and kind Belgian man who lived the last year of his life in desperate loneliness until he passed away in 2006. After Ettiene passed nobody seemed to care anymore about the memories and items he left behind, everything in the house has remained the same from the day he passed. It is clear that he suffered from a severe medical condition at the end of his life and clearly, nobody was there anymore to help him out. Today we will tell his story and show you his wonderful house for one last time. Let peace be with you Ettiene

Great discoveries happen once in a while, our favorite thing to do while exploring is to search on Google Maps for abandoned places, and this time we got lucky and found another gem in the countryside of France. Not much is known about the abandonment of this grand estate and the disappearance of the Family Grie that lived inside it. Around 5 years ago they left their immaculate family home behind with everything still in there. Nature is slowly taking over the surrounding area around the mansion, and it has a very dystopian and mysterious feeling when you walk around its grounds. I am eager to discover the history behind this place and I am going to take you today with me on this fascinating adventure, are you ready?

Somewhere in the middle of a picturesque French, we found a charming estate that got completely forgotten about. It once was in the ownership of Mister Remon and his beloved wife Anna, A German couple that moved to France in the late 80s. Mister Remon got the opportunity of a lifetime and became a surgeon. Together with his wife he lived in this grand manor for around 30 years, but sadly he passed away of a terminal illness. His wife kept on living in this here alone for around 10 more years until she also passed away in the year 2016. Ever since that time their estate has been abandoned and now is slowly rotting way. Come with us and let's uncover the lives of this lovely German couple and let us take you on a revealing tour of their former kingdom.

Mr. Hubert, a man that was always alone, very withdrawn, and in the village you didn't notice him. He was like a hermit. Once in a time he came outside of the house, he was always nice and friendly though. In his prime, this man was a farmer and also kept a lot of livestock. But as he got older, he decided to give up and could make a living out of retirement. According to documents inside, we find out that he occasionally went hunting with friends and liked to go fishing. In these last years, the man only used the ground floor of the house and no longer lived on the other floors. Around 2011, after suddenly being taken to the hospital, Mr. Hubertpassed away. He still has relatives, but they do sadly enough not care about anything. The only people who still seem to care are curious explorers like us, that will give you a glimpse into the house and life of Mr. Hubert today.

In the year 1838, a Belgian Politician bought the grounds around the castle to build an exclusive private hunting pavilion, just a few years after this he decided to start the construction of a massive castle for him and his wife after he passed away the castle fell into the hands of the local government. It remained dormant until the year 1914 when First World War began. the grounds of the castle were used as a defense line against the invading German army. And the property itself was used as a hospital for the wounded soldiers. When the war over the castle was in ruins and was in desperate need of restoration, that’s when the Noble English Wellington Family bought the castle and breaded new life into it. For almost a Century they called this amazing place their home but when both parents passed away the children could end decide on how to split the property and to this day they are still in a legal process while the castle slowly rots away… Today we will take you inside of this neo-classical building and bread life into it for one last time.

An abandoned building is not a forgotten building, it just hasn’t found its new lover yet. This was once the residence of an 18th century noble and his beloved family. He was a general who was active in the French revolutionary wars and defended the country with great pride. Even after he had passed, his descendants continued to live and laugh within the walls of the castle. Inside these walls, many clues and artifacts tell the events that took place here. The number of historic artifacts that have been left behind over the centuries is unfathomable. Every single room and corner in this place holds precious memories from the former times. It has now been a long time since there was activity in this wonderful place. The descendants of the French general have moved on and relocated to the bigger cities in search of work, leaving the castle behind to slowly wither away. When you walk through this place you get the feeling of being time-warped into the past. Walking through the rooms of the castle gives you the feeling of being time-warped into the past. Even though it is empty of life the walls still tell tales of the people that once lived here. If the walls in this place could talk they would tell tails of the former occupation.

I am an American Expat in Ho Chi Minh City, (Saigon) Vietnam. (I dislike the word Expatriate). I have lived in Vietnam for 3 years, I am almost considered an expert at living abroad. And also fly around South East Asia, to tour and travel, But for now, this is my Vietnam life, my HCMC Saigon life, my expat life. I always thought living abroad would be scary, but it's interesting and fulfilling. The food is amazing, the culture is fascinating and the people are friendly and welcoming. Slingshot, Bonnie Bramlett, LTD, New Birth R&B in LA 1974
Hey my friends welcome back to another story in the life of the Old Time Rock and Roller. Today we are going back to March 6. 1974 when Slingshot my band at the time finally got into the studio. We did a funky number I wrote called Get Down. Pepper Watkins sang backup on that. Get Down Now!
When we got to Dreams Reality our Dave Atwood couldn't cut the beat. We called a two hour break. I went to studio Instrumentals and met Ron Bushy from the Iron Butterfly. He was working as a carpenter building sound stages for $3.75 and hour. I said hey man we are looking for a drummer. We were in the middle of a session and the drummer just couldn't cut the beat. Do you know anyone? He said yeah I'm available. I said who are you? He said I am Ron Bushy from the Iron Butterfly. We went back to the studio and Ron played a perfect beat. Steve started singing well if the dreams I dream of you became reality. We mixed the 4 songs they sounded great. We were driving home over Mulholland Drive when out of the blue we saw a gorgeous red head hitching. She looked like a centerfold. We brought her back to the house and later asked if we passed the audition.

The Old Time Rock and Roller goes deep into the music vault for some great stories on recording, performing, and the R&B scene in Hollywood. Starting March 6, 1974 Slingshot records at Cherokee studio. Forrest meets and played with Bonnie Bramlett before she started singing with the Allman Brothers. In addition, Forrest and Steve were jamming with members of the New Birth, LTD, Earth Wind and Fire, and Rufus. After that, Slingshot plays the Whiskey and lands a record deal. Kathi McDonald sang backup with us at the Whiskey with Lea Santos, and Eddie Rodriguez with Rob Robertie playing drums and, Marc Levine on the bass.

Delaney & Bonnie disbanded, both musically and maritally, in 1972. Bonnie Bramlett continued her career as a solo songwriter and recording artist. She released Sweet Bonnie Bramlett in 1973, backed by The Average White Band. She and Forrest met in 1974 and that lead to their performance at the Palomino club in North Hollywood.

We bonded with members of the band The New Birth in the course of our many afternoon jam sessions. The New Birth (originally The Nite-Liters) were an American funk and R&B band formed in Detroit, Michigan. They were most well known for the hits I Can Understand It, It's Been a Long Time, Wildflower and Dream Merchant. We would jam with James Baker on Keyboards, Alan Fry vocal, and Robin Russell on drums. They would all come out and we would jam on some funky beats for 7 or 8 hours at a time. We would only stop for a beer, a handful of peanuts, or a doobie. Members of the horn section from the band LTD also come over to jam.

LTD - The group L.T.D. (standing for Love-Togetherness-Devotion) were formed in North Carolina in the late Sixties. Arthur 'Lorenzo' Carnegie, Jake Riley, Carle Wayne Vickers and Abraham 'Onion' Miller had been working as members of the Fantastic Soul Men Orchestra. This ensemble were the backing group for Sam & Dave. I saw them in 1972 on the North Shore my friends the Daddy Warbux opened the show. The cats from LTD Trumpet player Carle Vickers, Sax players Jake and Onion became friends of mine.

Guitarist Johnny Graham was an original member of The New Birth and they brought Johnny to one of the jams we had in the band house in North Hollywood. Rufus was an American funk band from Chicago, Illinois best known for the vocals of their lead singer Chaka Khan. I was a fan. They had several hits throughout their career, including Tell Me Something Good, Sweet Thing, and Ain't Nobody. We respected each other as players. I was having a hell of a good time jamming with the funkiest players on the scene. Most of the guys were weed connoisseurs. They told me stories of them putting their very best herb in safe deposit vaults allowing them their choice of what to smoke on any occasion. It made me wonder how much weed and contraband was stored in the Hollywood banks.

One afternoon I ran into Johnny Graham at Studio Instrument Rentals SIR. He introduced me to Bobby Watson the bass player for Rufus and Rufus drummer Andre Fischer. Johnny noticed I had my guitar with me and he invited me in for a jam session with Bobby and Andre. Loyd B Taylor aka B Loyd who wrote Getaway for EWF was there and we also bonded.

Our Miss Brooks is an American situation comedy starring Eve Arden as a sardonic high school English teacher. It began as a radio show broadcast from 1948 to 1957. When the show was adapted to television (1952--56), it became one of the medium's earliest hits. In 1956, the sitcom was adapted for big screen in the film of the same name.

Connie (Constance) Brooks (Eve Arden), an English teacher at fictional Madison High School.
Osgood Conklin (Gale Gordon), blustery, gruff, crooked and unsympathetic Madison High principal, a near-constant pain to his faculty and students. (Conklin was played by Joseph Forte in the show's first episode; Gordon succeeded him for the rest of the series' run.) Occasionally Conklin would rig competitions at the school--such as that for prom queen--so that his daughter Harriet would win.
Walter Denton (Richard Crenna, billed at the time as Dick Crenna), a Madison High student, well-intentioned and clumsy, with a nasally high, cracking voice, often driving Miss Brooks (his self-professed favorite teacher) to school in a broken-down jalopy. Miss Brooks' references to her own usually-in-the-shop car became one of the show's running gags.
Philip Boynton (Jeff Chandler on radio, billed sometimes under his birth name Ira Grossel); Robert Rockwell on both radio and television), Madison High biology teacher, the shy and often clueless object of Miss Brooks' affections.
Margaret Davis (Jane Morgan), Miss Brooks' absentminded landlady, whose two trademarks are a cat named Minerva, and a penchant for whipping up exotic and often inedible breakfasts.
Harriet Conklin (Gloria McMillan), Madison High student and daughter of principal Conklin. A sometime love interest for Walter Denton, Harriet was honest and guileless with none of her father's malevolence and dishonesty.
Stretch (Fabian) Snodgrass (Leonard Smith), dull-witted Madison High athletic star and Walter's best friend.
Daisy Enright (Mary Jane Croft), Madison High English teacher, and a scheming professional and romantic rival to Miss Brooks.
Jacques Monet (Gerald Mohr), a French teacher.

Our Miss Brooks was a hit on radio from the outset; within eight months of its launch as a regular series, the show landed several honors, including four for Eve Arden, who won polls in four individual publications of the time. Arden had actually been the third choice to play the title role. Harry Ackerman, West Coast director of programming, wanted Shirley Booth for the part, but as he told historian Gerald Nachman many years later, he realized Booth was too focused on the underpaid downside of public school teaching at the time to have fun with the role.

Lucille Ball was believed to have been the next choice, but she was already committed to My Favorite Husband and didn't audition. Chairman Bill Paley, who was friendly with Arden, persuaded her to audition for the part. With a slightly rewritten audition script--Osgood Conklin, for example, was originally written as a school board president but was now written as the incoming new Madison principal--Arden agreed to give the newly-revamped show a try.

Produced by Larry Berns and written by director Al Lewis, Our Miss Brooks premiered on July 19, 1948. According to radio critic John Crosby, her lines were very "feline" in dialogue scenes with principal Conklin and would-be boyfriend Boynton, with sharp, witty comebacks. The interplay between the cast--blustery Conklin, nebbishy Denton, accommodating Harriet, absentminded Mrs. Davis, clueless Boynton, scheming Miss Enright--also received positive reviews.

Arden won a radio listeners' poll by Radio Mirror magazine as the top ranking comedienne of 1948-49, receiving her award at the end of an Our Miss Brooks broadcast that March. "I'm certainly going to try in the coming months to merit the honor you've bestowed upon me, because I understand that if I win this two years in a row, I get to keep Mr. Boynton," she joked. But she was also a hit with the critics; a winter 1949 poll of newspaper and magazine radio editors taken by Motion Picture Daily named her the year's best radio comedienne.

For its entire radio life, the show was sponsored by Colgate-Palmolive-Peet, promoting Palmolive soap, Lustre Creme shampoo and Toni hair care products. The radio series continued until 1957, a year after its television life ended.

The Great Gildersleeve (1941--1957), initially written by Leonard Lewis Levinson, was one of broadcast history's earliest spin-off programs. Built around Throckmorton Philharmonic Gildersleeve, a character who had been a staple on the classic radio situation comedy Fibber McGee and Molly, first introduced on Oct. 3, 1939, ep. #216. The Great Gildersleeve enjoyed its greatest success in the 1940s. Actor Harold Peary played the character during its transition from the parent show into the spin-off and later in a quartet of feature films released at the height of the show's popularity.

On Fibber McGee and Molly, Peary's Gildersleeve was a pompous windbag who became a consistent McGee nemesis. "You're a haa-aa-aa-aard man, McGee!" became a Gildersleeve catchphrase. The character was given several conflicting first names on Fibber McGee and Molly, and on one episode his middle name was revealed as Philharmonic. Gildy admits as much at the end of "Gildersleeve's Diary" on the Fibber McGee and Molly series (Oct. 22, 1940).

He soon became so popular that Kraft Foods—looking primarily to promote its Parkay margarine spread — sponsored a new series with Peary's Gildersleeve as the central, slightly softened and slightly befuddled focus of a lively new family.

Premiering on August 31, 1941, The Great Gildersleeve moved the title character from the McGees' Wistful Vista to Summerfield, where Gildersleeve now oversaw his late brother-in-law's estate and took on the rearing of his orphaned niece and nephew, Marjorie (originally played by Lurene Tuttle and followed by Louise Erickson and Mary Lee Robb) and Leroy Forester (Walter Tetley). The household also included a cook named Birdie. Curiously, while Gildersleeve had occasionally spoken of his (never-present) wife in some Fibber episodes, in his own series the character was a confirmed bachelor.

In a striking forerunner to such later television hits as Bachelor Father and Family Affair, both of which are centered on well-to-do uncles taking in their deceased siblings' children, Gildersleeve was a bachelor raising two children while, at first, administering a girdle manufacturing company ("If you want a better corset, of course, it's a Gildersleeve") and then for the bulk of the show's run, serving as Summerfield's water commissioner, between time with the ladies and nights with the boys. The Great Gildersleeve may have been the first broadcast show to be centered on a single parent balancing child-rearing, work, and a social life, done with taste and genuine wit, often at the expense of Gildersleeve's now slightly understated pomposity.

Many of the original episodes were co-written by John Whedon, father of Tom Whedon (who wrote The Golden Girls), and grandfather of Deadwood scripter Zack Whedon and Joss Whedon (creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Firefly and Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog).

The key to the show was Peary, whose booming voice and facility with moans, groans, laughs, shudders and inflection was as close to body language and facial suggestion as a voice could get. Peary was so effective, and Gildersleeve became so familiar a character, that he was referenced and satirized periodically in other comedies and in a few cartoons.
