Great discoveries happen once in a while, our favorite thing to do while exploring is to search on Google Maps for abandoned places, and this time we got lucky and found another gem in the countryside of France. Not much is known about the abandonment of this grand estate and the disappearance of the Family Grie that lived inside it. Around 5 years ago they left their immaculate family home behind with everything still in there. Nature is slowly taking over the surrounding area around the mansion, and it has a very dystopian and mysterious feeling when you walk around its grounds. I am eager to discover the history behind this place and I am going to take you today with me on this fascinating adventure, are you ready?

On the grassy plains of an embattled French meadow that endured much political strife, sits a majestic castle with a harrowing history of its own.
Originally intended to be an important fortified castle, the construction of this dignified landmark was finished in the early 16th century.

Exactly one year ago, after the castle had been fading into oblivion for decades a priori, we visited this phenomenal place and could not believe our eyes. As centuries passed, the property was inhabited by the military nobility and several lieutenants who played a predominant role during the French Revolution. The personal legacy of generation upon generation is now left behind only to be devoured by nature as vegetation creeps through windows and doors/
Today we take you on an intriguing adventure back in time, as we visit this castle and take you on a journey through priceless historical mementos and invaluable antique furniture. One can rightly ask how such places even exist, and how one could ever leave such abundant history behind for the fate of the elements.

Today we are opening and sharing a discarded hidden treasure that has remained closed for years with each and every one of you.

Fortunately, the future of the building looks bright. The castle was recently bought and is currently being replenished back to its former glory. But before that happens, we're taking you on one last look behind its spellbound walls.

Life is not permanent, so always live in the now.
Today I'm emphasizing this statement with a visual example. I visit one of the most magnificent abandoned mansions I have ever seen in Belgium, dating back to the Victorian era.
This was once the family home of Mrs. Cornelia and her husband, that had a lucrative family business in beekeeping and thereby generated a lot of wealth in their time.
The years may have left their mark on the house but the main entrance hall with its cherished ornate ceilings and unique walls feels frozen in time. Dining chairs are poised around an elegant dining table as though waiting for the home's residents to ever return.
And mementos from those who once lived within these walls still linger on surfaces and on cupboards.

After being married to her husband for many years, she gave birth to a child at a later age, called Monica.
At a certain point in her life, she lost her husband but luckily still had her lovely daughter Monica taking care of her. As she grew older, she started coping increasingly with her health. Few years thereafter, she was taken to a nursing home where she drew her last breath at the age of 87 years old.

Get carried away on another tour through a graceful desolate place, as I will bring all faded grandeur and precious memories of Mrs. Cornelia and her family back to life.

Today I will breathe life in a dormant castle. The family tree of the residence of this property starts in the early 1700s with a high official of the First French Empire, ruled by Napoleon Bonaparte. From the four walls of this glorious building, advice was given to the Parisian parliament during times of revolution. Once a dignified place in its heyday, has now been left to the elements for 6 years afore. It's a shame seeing abundant beauty just withering away and all master-crafted works just turning to dust. Today we will immerse ourselves in the life of an important French family that was once prominent in politics and resided inside of this sublime landmark. Enjoy a tour, as I venture my way inside one of our best deserted finds to date and show you all its museum pieces that are still on display, solely left for eternity to take over.

Deeply hidden in the great French forests, lies a mystical beauty that has remained off the radar for a vast amount of years. Let me take you on an exclusive look behind the closed doors of this enchanting castle.

Through all the years of neglect, the property almost magically seems to have become in harmony with nature. While the overgrowth steadily makes its way in, and the building is slowly but surely dematerializing. With thousands of books and phantasmal statues scattered around, some of the rooms inside this once majestic castle seem straight out of a scene of a Harry Potter movie.

Where this was once the residence of a potent nobility and one of the key branches of the society of that time, it's now nothing more than a piece of lost glory completely forgotten by its wall of dense vegetation.

Somewhere in the middle of a picturesque French, we found a charming estate that got completely forgotten about. It once was in the ownership of Mister Remon and his beloved wife Anna, A German couple that moved to France in the late 80s. Mister Remon got the opportunity of a lifetime and became a surgeon. Together with his wife he lived in this grand manor for around 30 years, but sadly he passed away of a terminal illness. His wife kept on living in this here alone for around 10 more years until she also passed away in the year 2016. Ever since that time their estate has been abandoned and now is slowly rotting way. Come with us and let's uncover the lives of this lovely German couple and let us take you on a revealing tour of their former kingdom.

Frequently relationships disappear from space. But the love of a brother and sister never diminishes.
Today we take you deep into the French countryside to feature an abandoned farmhouse that has remained entirely crystallized in time. Once a brother and a sister spent their lives within this home. They were clearly involved in agriculture and earned their life cost with it. Around 2014, both the brother and the daughter departed this earth, and ever since that moment nothing has happened with the house, as no inheritance existed anymore to acquire the property. As no interested buyers could be found during the last couple of years, the building is slowly waiting for nature to become its new successor.

Today we'll dig back into our archives and showcase one of the oldest chateaus we've found in French lands, two years ago. It was once owned by an important count and after, by successive marriages, the property was passed in turn to the next generations in the family tree. The first written records about this historical landmark were found in in the early 1400s. The building suffered from the French Revolution and was remodeled several times. During this key event the castle was partly looted and eventually burned in the late 18th century by a troop of revolutionaries. In the 19th century it was restored again and given a new life.
With its nickname "Chateau Predator", it soon becomes clear to us why it was given this name. Inside we are astonished by the historical treasures that are still present in this dignified building as the day of today. Yet, this might come as no surprise as we promptly find out the property is severely secured by silent alarms, motion sensors and cameras. Indulge yourself in another tour through a lost hidden treasure, as we venture our way inside one of our riskiest visits to date.

Secluded from any other houses in its vicinity, lies this property that has been sitting eerily vacant for a rough 12 years now. This quaint little house once used to be the home of the married couple Ernest & Gabrielle. They lived a long and happy life together, had several children together, and reached the magical anniversary of 60 years of marriage until their health deteriorated and both of them eventually left this world. During their career, they won many awards at the national level related to pig farming.
Unfortunately, the kids don't exactly look back at their parents' house, and the condition of the property has deteriorated over the past few years due to roof leaks. The house has now become one of the so-called "slum houses" in Belgium and will one day be razed to the ground, after all the stuff from the inside has been removed and secured.
Before that happens, let's explore this simple yet charming home.

Somewhere in the middle of the Georgia countryside, there is a house that is barely still visible from the street.

Behind the foliage hides a sign of destruction. This wooden cottage is being swallowed up by mother nature.

This property was once the home of Sally and Henry, who had a daughter together. Today, the photos of them and their relatives only collect dust and slowly but surely fade in the light that shines in. Plant roots wriggle their way in while all their belongings seem left behind.

Around the turn of the millennium, Mr. Henry passed away and Mrs. Sally remained as a widower. She was a cat lover and lived in peace for a decade before eventually dying of heart problems.

What remained now is a place of serenity that has gone for an infinite sleep.
