Great discoveries happen once in a while, our favorite thing to do while exploring is to search on Google Maps for abandoned places, and this time we got lucky and found another gem in the countryside of France. Not much is known about the abandonment of this grand estate and the disappearance of the Family Grie that lived inside it. Around 5 years ago they left their immaculate family home behind with everything still in there. Nature is slowly taking over the surrounding area around the mansion, and it has a very dystopian and mysterious feeling when you walk around its grounds. I am eager to discover the history behind this place and I am going to take you today with me on this fascinating adventure, are you ready?

Somewhere in the middle of a picturesque French, we found a charming estate that got completely forgotten about. It once was in the ownership of Mister Remon and his beloved wife Anna, A German couple that moved to France in the late 80s. Mister Remon got the opportunity of a lifetime and became a surgeon. Together with his wife he lived in this grand manor for around 30 years, but sadly he passed away of a terminal illness. His wife kept on living in this here alone for around 10 more years until she also passed away in the year 2016. Ever since that time their estate has been abandoned and now is slowly rotting way. Come with us and let's uncover the lives of this lovely German couple and let us take you on a revealing tour of their former kingdom.

Let me open up the gates of the "Golden Palace", and take you into the bewitching story of a vast and opulent Italian family that once had deep pockets by virtue of acres of rice crops within their region and beyond.

You are about to watch a truly breathtaking deserted palace, dating from centuries ago. A building where numerous generations have passed and where prestigious families have led their lives in, little from knowing that they were seconds away from disappearing forever. Life's like a vapor: it's here today but could be gone tomorrow. Ever since that moment, mother nature has conquered and the glamorous property is solely left to decompose. As both its exterior, and interior, are crumbling apart, its artistic renaissance jewels within are still well preserved in time.

Apart from being strictly Christian people, we come to another unexpected discovery while we interview some people on the streets. According to these local villagers, rumors even go, that the former residents were worshipers and believers of exorcism.

Enjoy a tour, as I will unravel the mysteries in this palace that have remained hidden from the human eye for years on end.

Life is not permanent, so always live in the now.
Today I'm emphasizing this statement with a visual example. I visit one of the most magnificent abandoned mansions I have ever seen in Belgium, dating back to the Victorian era.
This was once the family home of Mrs. Cornelia and her husband, that had a lucrative family business in beekeeping and thereby generated a lot of wealth in their time.
The years may have left their mark on the house but the main entrance hall with its cherished ornate ceilings and unique walls feels frozen in time. Dining chairs are poised around an elegant dining table as though waiting for the home's residents to ever return.
And mementos from those who once lived within these walls still linger on surfaces and on cupboards.

After being married to her husband for many years, she gave birth to a child at a later age, called Monica.
At a certain point in her life, she lost her husband but luckily still had her lovely daughter Monica taking care of her. As she grew older, she started coping increasingly with her health. Few years thereafter, she was taken to a nursing home where she drew her last breath at the age of 87 years old.

Get carried away on another tour through a graceful desolate place, as I will bring all faded grandeur and precious memories of Mrs. Cornelia and her family back to life.

Slik lager du en mønstervegg med maskeringstape og maling.

Tilfør farger i spennende former på dine vegger med litt maling og maskeringstape. Dette er et enkelt prosjekt som er raskt å gjennomføre, men som vil gi stor forvandling. Syns du det kan være skummelt å male hele rommet eller en hel vegg for å tilføre farge til rommet, kan det være fint å starte med dette prosjektet. Og skulle du angre, er det selvfølgelig bare å male over på 1-2-3.

Buer og andre former for inndeling av soner i hjemmet med hjelp av maling vegg er en stadig økende trend. Slike former malt rett på veggen gjør seg spesielt godt bak større møbler som et skrivebord, skap, skjenk eller sofa. Vi viser deg hvordan du taper og maler mønster på veggen som en proff.

Steg 1 - Maskering
Mål opp hvor på veggen du ønsker å male. Merk med en blyantstrek. For å lage buede linjer har vi valgt å både tegne etter en rund form og å bruke tråd med blyant. Du kan lage din egen passer med tråd og blyant for å skape fine buede former.

Mål diameter på ønsket bue eller sirkel, og mål opp hvor mye hyssing du trenger. Knyt hyssing til en blyant og fest endetråden i sentrum. Dra blyant stramt etter radius for perfekt buede linjer, av samme prinsipp som ved en vanlig passer.

Nå kan du starte med å tape. Bruk en maskeringstape som er egnet på det underlaget du skal male på. Til dette prosjektet med slette gipsvegger brukte vi Tesa Maskeringstape Precision Gul 25 mm x 25 m, som gir ekstra skarpe kanter. Da vil du se blyantstreken igjennom tapen, når du skal skjære til. Husk å maskere gulvlister eller tak om ditt mønster når tak eller gulv.

Steg 2 - Vask overflaten som skal males
Det er viktig å rengjøre området som skal males før du setter i gang. For et effektivt og rent resultat anbefaler vi Jordan Malingsklar, engangskluter du kan feste på mopp eller vaske med for hånd. Den rene overflaten sikrer god vedheft, og overflaten kan males umiddelbart etter vask.

Steg 3 - Skjær til tape
Til sirkelen og buen har vi skjært ut maskeringstape for å få pene buede linjer å male etter. Bruk en kniv, og skjær lett over tapen mens du følger blyantstreken du har tegnet opp. Du trenger ikke presse hardt på tapen med kniven for å skjære, da den enkelt lar seg beskjære uten at du lager merker i veggen.

Dra av tapen du har skåret til, slik at det danner seg rette fine linjer på innsiden av området du skal male.

Steg 4 - Tid for maling
Når maskeringstapen er på plass og overflaten som skal males er vasket, kan du sette i gang med å male. Til dette prosjektet har vi brukt malerrulle og malt med Baronesse Matt. Malingen er overmalbar etter 3 timer, og gir en vaskbar og ripefast overflate. Med matt maling blir det mindre gjenskinn, og et lunere, mykere uttrykk. Mal to strøk maling for å få et flott sluttresultat.

I stuerommet malte vi en bue i fargen FR1920 Ekte Oker. Denne gule fargen er leken og spenstig. Den passer veldig godt til å sprite opp nøytrale hvit/grå/beige på vegg og interiører. Veggene til dette prosjektet er malt i FR1422 Lun Greige.

Steg 5 - Fjern maskeringstape
Fjern maskeringstapen med en gang du er ferdig med å male. Hvis du venter for lenge med å fjerne tapen, risikerer du både å rive med deg malingflak, og kan oppleve problemer med å få av tape og limrester fra underlaget. Fjern langsomt tapen mens malingen fremdeles er fuktig, og dra tapen i retning mot gulvet for å få fine rette kanter.

Originally intended to be an important fortified castle, the construction of this dignified landmark was finished in the early 16th century.

Exactly one year ago, after the castle had been fading into oblivion for decades a priori, we visited this phenomenal place and could not believe our eyes. As centuries passed, the property was inhabited by the military nobility and several lieutenants who played a predominant role during the French Revolution. The personal legacy of generation upon generation is now left behind only to be devoured by nature as vegetation creeps through windows and doors/
Today we take you on an intriguing adventure back in time, as we visit this castle and take you on a journey through priceless historical mementos and invaluable antique furniture. One can rightly ask how such places even exist, and how one could ever leave such abundant history behind for the fate of the elements.

Today we are opening and sharing a discarded hidden treasure that has remained closed for years with each and every one of you.

Fortunately, the future of the building looks bright. The castle was recently bought and is currently being replenished back to its former glory. But before that happens, we're taking you on one last look behind its spellbound walls.

Misses Vieren was the last inhabitant who sadly passed away, leaving it dormant. The frozen rooms in this place tell novels about former times and are a gateway into their past lives. Unfortunately French Property taxes are too high in comparison to the home prices, that why nobody ever bothered to give this place a new life. It is better to opt for a decoration not too heavy and, finally, move towards a range of calming colors. Whatever your choice, keep in mind that neutral paint is most suitable for the walls of a bedroom, as it provides a cozy atmosphere, and, as an additional benefit, mitigates the small defects of the walls. We will show you below, a selection of colors for bedrooms, which will be a trend in this 2021.

Neutral colors such as gray, white, beige, nudes, and some touches of vibrant and striking color will be booming.

Somewhere in the middle of the Georgia countryside, there is a house that is barely still visible from the street.

Behind the foliage hides a sign of destruction. This wooden cottage is being swallowed up by mother nature.

This property was once the home of Sally and Henry, who had a daughter together. Today, the photos of them and their relatives only collect dust and slowly but surely fade in the light that shines in. Plant roots wriggle their way in while all their belongings seem left behind.

Around the turn of the millennium, Mr. Henry passed away and Mrs. Sally remained as a widower. She was a cat lover and lived in peace for a decade before eventually dying of heart problems.

What remained now is a place of serenity that has gone for an infinite sleep.

Mister Jean-Louise…

A descendant from the Depont family that have been living in this picturesque French town since the beginning of the 16th century. The family Depont still resides in the town but Jean-Louis passed away around a decade ago, however, nobody seems to care about the belonging and memories that he left behind. Many people around town speculate that it is due to the chocking and dark display of taxidermy animals that can be seen throughout the house. Mister Jean-Louis started becoming obsessed with hunting after his wife passed away, and his children moved out, he was a very secluded person and could mostly be found inside his home or in the nearby Forrest. His house is a reflection of him and tells a much deeper story than we would have ever expected when we first walked inside. 

Let’s go through what remains and let’s put the pieces of the puzzle back together.

In this week's episode we discovered an incredible abandoned Disney castle in the French country side which had frozen in time. Forarbeid
Det første du gjør er å vaske over stolen for å få vekk fett og støv som kan feste seg i malingen. Er stolen gammel og har maling som begynner å flasse av må du pusse med sandpapir. Vent til underlaget blir tørt før du begynner med grunningen.

Grunning
For at malingen skal være slitesterk og feste seg godt er det viktig å påføre grunning før du maler fargen på stolen. Her velger du heftgrunn eller kvist og sperregrunn hvis stolen har kvistgjennomslag. Bruk gjerne malerull for en enkel påføring og pensel i mindre områder.

Påføring
For at malingen skal ha best holdbarhet og heft må du male to strøk. Mellom strøkene kan gå forsiktig over med veldig fint sandpapir for at flatene skal bli myke evt fjerne støv som kan ha festet seg i malingen.
