Har du tenkt på å tapetsere en vegg eller et helt rom? Tapet kommer i utallige mønstre og farger som fyller rommet med ny energi. Vi ønsker å vise deg de riktige stegene for et godt resultat.

Forarbeid
Det finnes mange forskjellige typer tapet, finne den som passer best til din overflate. Må den tåle vask? skal den ha struktur eller fototapet.

Begynn med å sjekke at veggen er jevn og ikke har ujevnheter. Du kan evt sparkle og slipe veggen for å jevne ut veggen. For å få riktig mål begynner du i rommets mest synlige hjørne. Det er viktig å få den første tapetlengden rett, så du ikke får følgefeil videre i arbeidet. Bruk derfor alltid vater og tegn opp en loddrett linje ca. 53 cm inn på veggen, slik at denne blir synlig og kan brukes som mållinje når du tilpasser den første tapetlengden.

Beregning av tapetlengde
For at du skal ha nok tapet til veggen eller rommet du skal tapetsere må du beregne tapetmengden riktig. Her gir vi deg et eksempel på hvordan.

Riktig tapetlengde = vegghøyde + rapport/repeat + ca 5 cm skjæringsmonn. Eks: Vegghøyde 2,4 m + rapport 0,64 m + 5 cm = tapetlengde 3,09 m.

Verktøy
For å kunne legge tapet trenger du godt verktøy:

- Vater
- Tommestokk
- Saks
- Blyant
- Pensel og Malerulle
- Tapetkniv
- Tapetlim

Påføring av lim
Mål opp hvor tapetlengdene treffer bortover veggen, og ha på lim for en og en lengde om gangen. Påfør limet med rulle og bruk pensel i kantene eller hjørner hvor det er vanskelig å komme til. Flere tapeter har også anbefalt limtype som bør brukes for best mulig fest til tapeten, dette står merket på tapetrullen.

Plassering av tapet
Trekk den første tapetlengden opp mot taket og fest den øverst, kontroller mot den opptegnede loddlinjen eller med vater at den er rett. La et par centimeter gå ut på taket. Videre presser du fast den øvre delen av tapetlengden og skjær av ved taklisten med tapetkniv.

Nå skal du fest tapeten inntil veggen og glatte over med en tapetbørste eller bredsparkel som fjerner bobler og ujevnheter. Glatt ut resten av lengden med tapetverktøy fra midten og oppover, fra midten og nedover, avslutt i kantene. Håndflaten er også fintå bruke for å stryke tapeten nedover veggen.

Nede ved gulvlisten skjæres kanten av med tapetkniv for å få en rett og pen linjen i kanten. Videre gjentar du tapetlengdene bortover veggen, merk hvis det er mønstertapet må du tilpasse nøye mot den første lengden. Vask bort limsøl umiddelbart med svamp og rent vann så det ikke fester seg på tapeten.

Tapetsering i hjørner
Når du kommer til et hjørne skjærer du til tapetlengden slik at tapeten går ca. 1-3 cm forbi hjørnet.

This house is still full of belongings of a lifetime, yet, there are no more people.

Today I'm taking you to the former home of a French doll maker.
Call it creepy, call it beautiful, but how we found the dolls in the chairs as the first explorers in this place is certainly not an everyday occurrence for an urban explorer.
Where the French couple, who once lived in this building many years ago, has gone, remains a mystery.

Two cars, almost obscured by a faded thick layer of dust and debris, are a direct clue that the building has not been exposed to any human presence for several years.
The same goes for this dining table with the checkered tablecloth. It was once surrounded by joy and conviviality, yet it is anxiously quiet right now, and the various pieces of taxidermy on the cupboards, together with a hunting rifle, create an ominous atmosphere.

We assume that the couple that once resided here, rose to heaven several years ago, and there are no relatives left to, eventually, inherit the property and breathe new life into it.
Our finds in this charming cottage indicate that the couple was already elderly before they left the property for good, but the numerous dolls scattered around also signify that grandchildren were definitely involved in the life of the former residents.

Sometimes I wonder, "Do the grandkids never think about Grandpa's and Grandma's house and how it stands now, sitting in silence and slowly fading in time?"

Unfortunately, we will never know the real answer to that question in the majority of cases, but let's go on a new quest together today in this intriguingly beautiful French house, where time seems to have remained stagnant for a spell.

A descendant from the Depont family that have been living in this picturesque French town since the beginning of the 16th century. The family Depont still resides in the town but Jean-Louis passed away around a decade ago, however, nobody seems to care about the belonging and memories that he left behind. Many people around town speculate that it is due to the chocking and dark display of taxidermy animals that can be seen throughout the house. Mister Jean-Louis started becoming obsessed with hunting after his wife passed away, and his children moved out, he was a very secluded person and could mostly be found inside his home or in the nearby Forrest. His house is a reflection of him and tells a much deeper story than we would have ever expected when we first walked inside. 

Let’s go through what remains and let’s put the pieces of the puzzle back together.

A splendid residence that found its roots in1200, rises above an idyllic Italian village.
This grandiose castle with its medieval tower has seen better days, yet, the property has now lost its dignity due to a scandal in the past.
The only inhabitants at the moment are colonies of birds, which are starting to migrate to their next nesting site.

This palace was initially the home of a noble Italian family that lived here for several centuries, enriching it with numerous works of art and making it a splendid art gallery.
The former castle was transformed into a Renaissance villa by Mr. Camillo, a successor of the count's family, in the second half of the 1500s, preserving its austere and medieval character, accentuated by the tower and the typical castellan shoe-shaped plinth.

The last one who owned the palace was Count Luigi. On his death in the early 1800s, the villa was inherited by other counts, who sold it again at the start of the 1900s to Mr. Angelo.
He kept it in excellent condition until his death in 1950), and from that moment the house fell into a progressive state of decay.

There followed a period of so-called "ballottaggio" between different owners, and in the end. the villa came into the hands of a well-known painter, who named the building in honor of his wife. Thanks to the inspiration of the new owner, the house has undergone a notable recovery and had once again become an art gallery.

They lived a prosperous and prestigious life inside the castle until a tragedy happened in 2014 that changed everything in the blink of an eye.
In November 2014, gardening work and interventions were taking place in the park of the property.
Two of the works of the family, architect Grazioli and former bricklayer Giambattista, were given instructions for interventions to fell the tall trees because of a risk of falling, without having received any authorizations by the owners to do so. Suddenly the plant to be felled had given way and had hit on both heads of the workers. The two suffered from fatal injuries to the skull, and were crushed on the 20th of November, 2014, under the tree they were trying to uproot.

Turning the building's beautiful history into an ever-lasting grim and sinister tale.

Due to "imprudence, incompetence and negligence", the painter and his wife were both charged for manslaughter. It was from then, that the historic building ultimately lost its fate and has since slowly sunk into the elements.

Ignorant of this story before my exploration, I am going to take a look here today and take you inside a castle where the masterpieces of this Italian painter can still be admired.

Remotely located in the vast French countryside, there is a property that was once called "Le Moulin" - the mill.
And not just any property, it was once home to a French family and comes with an intriguing story and history.
This 2 story house was last occupied 15 years ago and was owned by Mr. Roger and Mrs. Andree.
Mr. Roger served as a soldier back in World War II.
Unbelievable but true - mementos from wartimes, their memories, and other family relics have slowly been sinking into dust during the last decades.

Old documents teach us that Mr. Roger was involved in a shooting accident during a war battle during the war, for which he eventually received compensation from the French state. Luckily, he survived, but did not remain unscathed - the man became disabled but ultimately, the couple gratefully found all their peace in their manor in the middle of the meadows.

This is how they lived up to a quiet retirement, while they made bread in an artisanal way in their own mill, which they sold to the villagers in the region, and worked towards their peaceful old age when they eventually both left this planet.

During the long stretch of desolation, hardly anyone, besides some vermin, has entered this property - making it a true time capsule of wartime. Today I take you on a tour through their lives as I explore their former house in search for answers.
